Diagnosing Declining Injectivity and an Unknown Restriction in a Water Injection Well

This case study demonstrates how EV's Optis Infinity and SandVA assisted an operator to assess an unknown restriction and identify the cause of declining injectivity in their water injection well.

After observing a decline in injectivity, the operator planned to retrieve the electrical submersible pump and evaluate the condition downhole, however, the intervention was unsuccessful. Concerned about a possible casing collapse preventing access to the lower wellbore, the operator now needed to identify the cause of the restriction and also evaluate the condition of the sand screens.
