Open Hole

Open hole is not traditionally thought of as an area for camera technology. However Optis™ technology can bring Operators major benefits in the correct circumstances. Evaluating fractures or formation in barefoot gas completions or using Optis™ to evaluate Coal Bed Methane wells are specific applications.

Evaluation of bare foot gas completions: Optis™ E-line with the Sideview module can provide operators with a picture of the formation. The side-view camera provides high resolution pictures providing geologists with an 'in-situ' core picture.

Fractures can be evaluated to a level of detail not possible with traditional imaging tools. When an open hole frac is run, pre and post runs of Optis™ Sideview will show the fracture development.

Coal bed methane: Optis™ technology can provide picture of the downhole or wellbore formations and identify zones of sloughing. Optis™ Slickline provides a cost effective method to obtain an image of the downhole or wellbore and determine lithology.

Air drilled wells: Wells drilled with Nitrogen or other gases present another opportunity to use Optis™ video technology as a formation evaluation tool.
