Construction & Decommissioning Systems

EV design, manufacture and operate multiple cameras systems that are used during cutting and/or decommissioning projects. These 'Multi Perspective' operations require a number of cameras to feedback simultaneous strands of visual data to the operator, providing a complete overview of the job.

EV has supplied several such systems ranging from 2 camera tie backs up to 17 coupled cameras. Uses for these systems have included the installation of subsea infrastructure such as over-trawlable structures, subsea cutting and removal monitoring, and decommissioning projects such as the North West Hutton.

Typically EV supply the following elements as part of these multi camera systems:

Subsea

  • Camera units – typically EV's SL40 Camera, can be adapted to include zoom & focus
  • Subsea Lighting – Low Light, standard or halogen lights where required
  • Subsea Interface Units
  • Cabling and Umbilicals back to surface

Topsides

  • EV Master Unit
  • EV slave units supplying multiple viewing/displays

Systems are supplied with technical information that allows them to be integrated with third party systems if required.

For long-term hires or equipment purchase, EV will carry out operation and basic maintenance training for nominated personnel to enable the equipment to be operated without the need of an EV technician. Full onshore support will continue to be supplied by EV.
